---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kega Fusion v3.61 (C) Steve Snake 2008
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whats New ?
-----------

Various fixes for problems found in the last version, plus a couple of
extras:

* Moved menus around a bit - the Country and CD Drive menus are now part
of the Options menu. This fixes problems with the old menus not fitting
properly in 320x240 mode, and is also a bit less cluttered.

* Timing was out by a small amount after I removed test code. It should
now be back to where it was supposed to be, removing minor glitches from
a few games.

* Problems with Vista-specific code reported by a few people should now
be fixed. Please report any problems with this as soon as possible.

* Windowed VSync is not required, or desired, under Vista. Fusion now will
default to ignoring the VSync flag when running windowed in Vista. There
is an INI file option to re-enable it just incase this causes problems
for anyone.

* Vista-specific code can also be disabled via another INI file option,
incase this causes problems, or you're trying to run Fusion under Wine,
Darwine, or Crossover.

* Sound effects in Primal Rage 32X are working again.

* AVI output now should not affect what you see on screen.

* Screenshot options - you can now select to save screenshots at various
stages. Final is what you'd get from earlier versions, Corrected is non
filtered but aspect corrected, and raw is not aspect corrected.

* Minor modifications to Render Plugin stuff.

* Upped the number of Render Plugins again, to 48. Please don't ask for
any more, there isn't, and probably never will be, anything like 48
different plugins that are actually worth bothering with ;)

* Modifications to Full Screen Resolution after noticing that default
resolutions for large widescreen monitors were sometimes not appearing
in the list. Should be fine now.

* A few more behind-the-scenes fixes.

Merry Christmas.

Snake.

I don't know what you guys are talking about but this is a *New* release of Kega just 14 days after the last release (3.6) which was here on this website and this has a few of fixes and couple of extras, as said from the official site....

I don't know whether to be annoyed, mad or confused....

There apparently was a spam post that cibomatto2002 answered and then Zach told him not to. The post is now removed and that's why this thread looks a little funny.

You can be whatever you want, really.. As long as you read posts more carefully, then you won't have a problem deciding how you feel ;)

But this is partly my fault for not removing all posts related to the spam.. Oh well

Thanks for the link and update. Did they fix that sega cd save issue yet?
If not, i use this kega emulator and another genesis emulator for sega cd saves.

The issue is that you can't save a state with sega Cd

But you can still save your game via a normal in-game save option, right?

If so, then it's not all that bad as you are at least getting the original level of functionality

The issue is that you can't save a state with sega Cd

Only that? Phew! I try to use save states as little as possible anyway, so I'll probably be alright if SF CD is as generous with savings as the other games in the series.

Btw, how did saving work on the Genesis CD? Did it have some kind of memory card or was there a small memory chip built-in like on Saturn?

Zach

I believe Sega CD had build in non-volatile RAM, or a combination of RAM and a battery.

Sega Saturn didn't use a memory chip, it used a battery/chip combination also. Take out the battery / it dies, and you lose all your info and have to reconfigure the system clock, etc.

Savestates for Sega CDs are partly fixed (I think)

as for Zach You don't have to apologize it's my fault for not reading posts carefully so let's be all cool.

for Mac and Intel users BTW:

Just a quickie...

Intel Mac owners download this: Kega Fusion 3.52i (OSX/Intel)

And also this: Render Plugins (OSX)

Windows users can download these Render Plugins (Win) - there's not much new here, but they've been fixed and optimised, so you might want to use them instead of the older ones.

You can find the source for these plugins Here should you want them.

To Intel Mac owners: Please do give feedback. Hopefully this works just fine on all variations of Intel Mac, and should work under Tiger or Leopard. But this is my first real Mac app, and needs some testing :) I'll continue to support it if people want it.

Some extra notes - I'll write up some proper docs sometime later:

Currently SegaCD support is via BIN/CUE only, I may add to this, but to be honest, BIN/CUE is the best option anyway.
Netplay is not implemented. I will be adding this, and it should be cross platform compatible.
GameGenie is not implemented. Again, I will be adding this.
There are a few other options which have been removed because they are useless. All Intel Macs are fast enough to support the highest quality sound, for example, so there is no need for those options.

Get it on the official web page.

Glad to see he's supporting the Intel Mac crowd. Intel Macs are gonna make a lot of cross platform ports easier
