Okay, so this is my first anything in these forums, but i looked around and I didn't really see anything that related to my problem or else I wouldn't have created a new thread. But if this has already been addressed then my mistake :\ I have a ePSXe emulator, playing FF8, and the graphics and everything run fine, it's just the text. It's chopped up and half of it is black so i can't read it, and i'll only be able to see a letter or two out of a sentence. I've tried messing with the configs but so far no luck no matter what I seem to do. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :]

1) Try another graphics plugin

2) Try another emulator (pSX)

3) Try another ISO

Strange. I've played the game without this text-related problem in ePSXe so I would still think it's something wrong with the particular ISO or CD. Or possibly some configuration problem.

Its definitely either an Issue with the graphics plugin people are using or a bad ISO (there are a number of these out there for FFVII and VIII).

What graphics plugins are people using and what settings are you using in them?.

i'm using Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9
and between the fast and nice setting buttons on the bottom left, i use fast

i thought it might be the iso too but...
this problem started for me on disc 3 so i tried disc 1,2 now i get the black in all 3 discs

If you started on Disk 3 are you using a save downloaded from the internet?.

If so, how does the game look if you start a new game from the beginning?.

Its unlikely its the graphics plugin as thats exactly the same one that I'm using and I've recently played FFVIII through to completion with ePSXe using it.

Note at the bottom of the config screen for that plugin is a section for 'special game fixes' which you'll want to activate. If you press the little browse button next to it, it present you with a specific list of game fixes several of which apply to FFVIII and/or blanking problems with certain cards. I would try enabling them and try it again perhaps.

i started the game from disc 1 but the problem with the letters started while playing disc 3. i thought it might be just a problem with my disc 3 iso but now i have the problem with disc 1 and 2.
even on the start screen with 'NEW GAME' and 'continue' choices i can't see
NEW GAME and continue i can only see parts of a few of the letters not even a whole letter the rest is just black.

i reinstalled my epsxe but using the same save files like b4 and its working again like it did b4 but i haven't tried exiting and running it again.
afraid it might happen again
