ok I have just downloaded a game called Plasma Sword for the Mame and i also downloaded Mame32 0.90 and it does have the game on there.
But the problem is how do i make it so that Mame32 0.90 can locate the files for Plasma Sword? I put the files in the rom folder but it still wont find them.
the file names are these:
sg2-01m
sg2-02
sg2-03
sg2u-04
sg2-05m
sg2-06m
sg2-07m
sg2-08m
sg2-09m
please help me out and tell me where to put these files at so that Mame32 0.90 will find these files and let me play the game.

First, upgrade to the latest MAME. Your ROMs should be zipped in the ROMs folder or in a folder with the set name, so plsmaswd.zip or in the folder plsmaswd. You will also need the BIOS for this game (cpzn2).

You also need the cpzn2.zip bios to play this game. Note that mame reports the emulation as incomplete (working with problems) so with the correct roms it will run but may have bugs or other problems.
You need to download plsmswd.zip along with the cpzn2 bios and put them in the mame roms folder. Should work ok with Mame0.90 although unless you're on really old hardware I don't understand why you would use such an old version of mame?.
Currently works better in Zinc than Mame too.
Actually, re-reading your post, have you put all those files seperately into the mame roms folder?.
Mame requires that you leave your roms zipped so if you unzipped it into the rom folder, zip them all back up into a single zip file and make sure the zip file is named correctly or mame won't find it.
