Not sure if a good ideal of posting nor admitting, for they always say "guilty are those whom get caught with the hand in the cookie jar"... :p

I'm sorry but... what's the point of this thread? Honestly..

To brag how many 1337 Warez you have ? Come on.... This topic has no social value whatsoever.. Everybody pirates at some point, except for a few people here and there.. It no longer means anything and isn't "cool" to show what you're not paying for anymore..

I just don't any of these crazes that have become the norm.. Nobody on the Internet cares about other peoples PC specs, MMO character stats /lvl, rom or warez collections.. It doesn't effect them. We've all participated in the fad at some point but that's all it is.. worthless bragging

There's a story that goes like this...

A friend once quoted "There's free $hit all over the place...". Before I knew it - I had 500 ROMs, a millions MP3s, tons of software I knew I could never afford - but I have them well hidden though... In the fireplace, beneath the wood, under the bricks, locked in a box, and pass-coded on disks. "They'll" never suspect... LOL

cibomatto2002

The point of this thread is to see how many people say they use illegal software
You know everyone here does why else would we need Emulators.:msn_shy:

Zach
September 5th, 2008, 21:12
Not all Roms are illegal so that's not really a good point these days.

Anyway, yes threads should have points. A thread that actually discusses something is what attracts members to forums in the first place, most people don't like to hang around places where people just post meaningless stuff and offer no intellectual stimulation.

No, not all threads on the forum have to have points, and we have plenty of good, interesting threads in many categories..

But I still tell people when something is of minimal use or serves no real purpose. Because I'm just expressing my opinion.

It is kind of redudant to say you want to know how many people use illegal software, and then state that we all know all of us uses illegal software anyway; and that wasn't really your question to begin with or else you could have made a simple pole. You asked in detail what software everyone is pirating; that is an entirely different scope vs wanting to know how many people simply pirate.

Oh damn are we in trouble then....

"Post your desktop!"
"Where Do You Live?" - hardly reliant
"Tell us about your avatar" - Oh that has a purpose
" Post your MySpace "
"HONKA-BALI-WOO-WOO" Oh that one is great..
"Avatar" just in case the first one was not good enough
"Post your MyMusic pic"

And in the game section we'd be here all day, or is the futility law excluded here? And dont tell me the point is to have fun, because there is nothing wrong with this post in that manner then, it could be lots of fun. Fun being in the eye of the reader.

"Last person to post wins."
"The smash the next poster"
"Corruptive Wish "

and all of that is in this secession... Ironically they attract a lot of attention. I dont think this post is any less of a post them those?

- Opinions like a$$ holes we all hove one. I think your being hard on the lad. buts that just my opinion.. I also think its a game, not a question. Again just my opinion.

Well the thread is still open so I guess the game is on. Here is my junk folder...

Pointing to other bad threads to justify an addition to the list?

Weak dude.

And of course this thread is still open, it hasn't broken any rules. That doesn't redeem it though.

This topic's purpose is to "grab" interest (like any other), to bring a community together to post, nothing more nothing less...

It's called "community", for interest and insanity is just one way to indulge readers to pull out the keyboard and post... ;)

Pointing to other bad threads to justify an addition to the list? - No, point to other bad threads to show that this is not the only one..

Jumping on someones case about making another pointless thread, is week..

Zach
September 6th, 2008, 22:51
How so? If this topics purpose is to "grab interest" and you can't handle that some people who's interest was grabbed, might think it is pointless then that's not my problem.

Ultimately its up to everyone here whether they choose to draw out other peoples opinions into long, equally pointless debate. I'm quite content to state my opinion and never look at a thread again. But if people want to keep complaining about a complaint, that is their business.

Desert Drifter
September 6th, 2008, 23:27
Well, I didn't mean by "grabbing interest" as making the topic having a sole purpose, more like an "effort", to draw people in to post, either they want to or not. Basically you read, you decide to post or decide not, and move on to the next. The way of the community my friend...

Ultimately its up to everyone here whether they choose to draw out other peoples opinions into long, equally pointless debate. - This is true and can not be argued, and your opinion was stated very clearly, as mine.

I'm quite content to state my opinion and never look at a thread again. But if people want to keep complaining about a complaint, that is their business. - hence 90% of all forums to day.

Peer 2 Peer Applications are no more illegal than your CD or DVD, Video Tape and Audio Cassette recorders.

Unfortunately all the kool-aid drinkers in the world think that just because you CAN use them to do something that breaks the law, everyone therefore must be using them to do exactly that. That's how lies and misinformation is spread, just like the urban myth that Emulators are illegal.

Hey, I agree, a lot of people think "they do, so it must be okay..." and it's not. Would you jump off a bridge because everyone else is too? The hard fact is "money is power" meaning someone's axel will come to a stop because someone else is taking the profits. A shame in a world of people whom can't think for themselves...

I don't have any illegal software on my PC ATM.
I only buy games I really want. The only commercial programs I use are Vista (came with the laptop) and WinRAR. Since I have used WinRAR for over 10 years now, I thought I should buy a license about a year ago. The devs deserve it.
There is enough open-source/freeware software out there:
- OpenOffice for MS Office
- Paint.net (or The Gimp) for Photoshop
- CDBurnerXP and ImgBurn for Nero

I don't use illegal warez

I do however like No$GBA 2.6, Photoshop, Total Commander, Illustrator, CoD5Beta, UltraISO and TuneAid.

There are free alternatives to these though. Just use google, or dowload.com. Great place for some good software.
