Enter not working

Ok I using VisualBoyAdvance. And what ever game (pokemon) I try this happens:

New game
Option

Now I can not get past this. Enter does not work. Any ideas to fix this?

have you configure your buttons to keys?

If so what is mapped to a and b.. Also does up and down work?
