What controller would you reccomend for nestopia?

I'm very new to emulators and just installed one today and was trying to get my PS3 controller to work with it, but didn't know what I was doing even though the laptop picked up on it and the emulator did read the controller.

Could any smart people help me out or direct me to a controller that would work, I was looking at this earlier http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/3512758/Madcatz-PC-Game-Pad-Pro/Product.html but unsure whether to go for it or not.

Also could someone also explain how you input the controller when I get it :)

use original controllers with adapters...

find your original at a flee market or on ebay..

find yout adapters all over the net example (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-14-71-6m-49-en.html)

Plug usb adapter in to port ( usually no drivers )
plug in your controller
open the emulator
select you new joystick
select what buttons do what..
