Would these specs be decent for an advanced emulator such as PCSX2 or dolphin?

The reason why I am asking is, I am planning to buy a new motherboard
from dell (http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Cables_Hubs_Adapters/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&cs=cadhs1&sku=A1367042)
and a GeForce 8500 graphic card.

My current computer right now is like this:
Dell Dimension DIM3000
Pentium(R) 4 CPU
2.80 GHz
512 mb of RAM

Well, Pentium 4 and 512mb of RAM are not good enough for PCSX2 and Dolphin

For Dolphin and PCSX2 for GeForce 8500 graphic card is ok, I think.. However...

You will need Core 2 Duo and 2 gb of ram and above. The Geforce 8800 gt is best one if you can afford it or try GeForce 9800 which is fairly cheap.. It is almost the same as geforce 8800 gt however 8800 is still much better. You decide. :)

Well I'm not sure about core 2 duo, but if I can get the GeForce 9800/8800 with
2 gb of RAM will that make any of the 2 emulators run decently?

PCSX2 and Dolphin, are cpu dependent the video card wont help much in that case.

No, you need Core 2 Duo.. Pentium 4 won't help with this GeForce 9800/800 with 2gb of RAM.. No... You will also need Core 2 Duo.

There are not many console emulators that are fully playable during production. Some of the handholds are but they are normal not so cpu intense. bleem and ultrahle were the only two that proved it can be done. Game systems are getting very powerful theses days. Better to buy one, burn iso's and chip it, if your aim is to play free games.

Well, many ps2 games are between playable and fully playable depend on which games you are talk about and many of them are in very good speed! :)

And the P4 is a very old CPU nowadays. The C2D's blow it away, even running a single core of a C2D @ 2.5ghz will perform like a P4 clocked @ 4Ghz.
