whats the best agp card so far ? - an absent one replaced by an e-pci slot ;)
Well that depends on the use, but for power and memory.. Radeon X 1650 Pro or X1950 for ati.. For nVidia go with GeForce 6800 Ultra , unless you can get your hands on a 6600GT
Radeon X1950 XT sucks for gaming for right now on vista. ( drivers ).

The ATi HD3850 is available on AGP. Whether or not it will bottleneck the AGP 8x interface and your CPU is an entirely different issue.
And no, ATi is not the far superior brand. They only recently came back on top with the 4*** series, but it still depends on what games you play.

Dont confuse 1950XTX with 1950. Different animal.
1950XTX is better then 3850 but 3850 is better then 1950. Some say the 3850 can beet the 1950XTX sometimes.

if you have the money, go for the HD 3850. The firingsquad review has the X1950 pro in it and as you can see, it's no contest. The 3850 wins at every game and while sometimes it's not by much, othertimes it's twice as fast. If $100 is about your limit, the $105 X1950 pro on newegg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newegg is as good as you'll get.
Hell, the 3850 will even beat the X1950 XT in most cases.
The X1950 PRO is far behind the 3850.

I think the HD 3850 has a lower memory clock speed than the 9250XTX.
