I'm new to MAME and was wondering if you guys had any game recommendations. I'll play just about anything. Fighters, shooters, run 'n gun, you name it.

Thanks, Ana. I love Mario Bros. and I've never played the arcade version. Wouldn't have even thought of that if you hadn't mentioned it.

Now that I got all these sweet games, I just need to learn how to configure my gamepad for them.

I forgot to tell you the game List I gave you are not clones also they all work on MAME 0.126 as for the game pad make sure you click "enable joystick" in the default game options and then hit tab once inside a game to set up the controls.

I use MAMEUIFX

I was a MAME Plus fan in the past but to many controller problems like on some games the game pad would not work at all I sure it is fixed now but I'M not going to go back any time soon. So far MAMEUIFX is really good it has turbo so you do not need to keep pressing the buttons really fast it's good on fighting games.

I was so bord today that is why the list I gave you was so big

- Street Fighter II (and the million other versions)
- Street Fighter The Movie
if you like Mortal Kombat, check out a parody of it called "Tattoo Fighters"

Sports
- NBA Jam (and the rest of them)
- Run And Gun
- Arch Rivals (old school pre NBA JAM game, check it out)
- Blomby Car (car racing)
- Great 1000 Miles Rally (car racing)
- Over Top (car racing)

Side Scrollers/
- Double Dragon (1, 2, 3)

- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (plus the second one)

Shooters
- Terminator 2: JD

Also, it may sound kind of pervy, but there are some adult games called Fantasia. You have to cut out the background of this picture while avoiding these bugs and things to reveal a nudey pic in the back... but I kinda took a liking to the game and would still play it even if it had non adult pics in the background... some people hate the game, but I find it pretty addictive. It requires a fair bit of strategy and patience.

oh, thats not an arcade game. Some old NES games have been made playable on MAME, you need to download a nes bios to run it, but it's the NES version, usually the roms named "Vs_whatever"

There is also a few amiga, neogeo games done like that.
