Multitap

I press multitap option. I would assume that multitap should be enabled. Right?
Not working for me. I only play one game (Castlevania Symphony Of The Night) so i don't know if it might be working in other games. But it should not make any difference right?

Edit: Oh yea im using ePSXe.

Is it only in-game? or at the button configuration too?
