Wind Waker help

I'm playing the game with Dolphin, I set the Pad Input to Dolphin pad plugin (new) I'm able to play the game fine with decent FPS, but when I get to the main menu I am able to select start but after that it asks me about the memory card in slot A being corrupt, and would I like to format it. How to select an option? whatever I press it does nothing. any help thanks.
