There are a lot of files in my "Roms" folder for MAME that are the same game; four or five. There are also a lot of game titles I don't think I'll be wanting to play. Is there an easy way to approach this, or am I going to have to click each one and figure out if I'm going to keep it or not? Any response will be very much appreciated. Thank-you.

If you're using MameUI32 then you can use the filters in the left hand pane to just display Originals etc.

If you're using a different front-end with commandline mame most of them will let you apply filters using the catver.ini (http://www.mameworld.net/catlist/) and you can filter out all the clone roms, non working games and whatever else you don't want displayed.

Hope that helps.
