Help me!!

Every time I look at a file that says where to open the fire red ROM, all of my files are deleted. I have been playing non-stop for 2 days on this one file and it is GONE! Can someone explain why this keeps happening so I can avoid the problem. NOTE: The window that asks where to open the ROM appears multiply times on the desktop.

There could be multiple causes. The most common:

ROM name change. Did you rename your ROM file?
The save file is not being read by the emulator. Try setting the apropiate save folder in your emulator.
Emulator change. Not all emulators support the same save file type.
If your ROM is missing or deleted, there's a chance you can still use your save file as long as the ROM is the same region and version when getting another ROM.
