Hello. I use the project 64 emulator. I know that there are a series of plug-ins for this emulator but I don't know what they do and even if I did I wouldn't know how to configure them. Can someone please tell me what I should install to maximize the N64 experience and what/how to configure concerning plug-ins and the emulator itself? Thanks

Welcome to the EZ Forums. I hope you've read the rules (http://forums.emulator-zone.com/rules.php).

To help you with your plugins issue, read my Project64 Guide (http://www.emulator-zone.com/files/misc/downloadable_guides/Project64_Guide_Butters.zip).

Your guide has helped me but it seems so simple. It does tell me how to configure the emulator but how do I install the plug-ins and how do I configure them? Is it just the presence of the files or does it require an installation?
Is there another guide you can show me or is it a variable thing in terms of liking?
Thanks for your time

Well, the plug-ins are ".dll"s and to be extracted into the "plugin" folder of your emulator, though configuring them is through the emulator by setting the plug-ins and going into each of their settings, as there are the Graphics, Audio, RSP, and Controller. Takes some time getting use to "configuring" them to your liking, but wrote a doc on v1.7's, if it might help, though didn't finish the one of v1.6, so hard to tell without knowing your settings or version of the emulator... ;)

My guide only covers default plugins and they don't require any further installation. They just come with the emulator.

On the note of plugins, can you be a little more idiot friendly explaining how to use a new plugin? Really the entire reason for me getting a N64 emulator is my favorite oldie game, Ogre battle 64. Have actually found that Rice's plugin (5.0 up) works with it, but this was observing someone else. I have the plugin extracted, but cant seem to get Project64 to recognize it, and my directory search doesn't turn up a plugin file. The reason I need this, is without Rice's plugin, all battle backgrounds and several scene backgrounds are black, and the text is quite difficult to read.

Did you put the plugin into the plugin's folder? Does it give you an error message?
