Visual boy advanced ARcodes

Well i downloaded (Action Replay)AR for the visualboyadvanced <<(Latest version) and when i try and load it says

" The Acton Replay switch is currently set to off, to use this product the switch must be set to the on position."

Any clues on what to do or what my settings have to be

why download AR for it when it already has gameshark built in?
i usually just use gameshark

the AR for gba has a hardware switch, just like most game hacking devices,

the Action Replay Rom you have is a dump of the ROM inside the Action Replay Device,
the device checks for the i/o switch from the hardware,

if you wish to cheat, just add GS codes via VBA, or add codes yourself,

you can make rom work, if you're good, you can hack it to intercept or read keypresses that would trigger the switch being "on/off"

you can get by this by dissasembling the ROM, if traced properly, you can patch it. :)

the fix could be a PPF fix(patching into the rom, adding your i/o switch code[if there's free space on the rom, otherwise, you'll need to resize it) or a softcode(GS) override (much like Joker Keys)
