I ran into a problem with FF7. After the run in with Don Conteseo or whatever in disk one, when you're coming back from the train graveyard, when I go to leave the first screen, I get a black picture with music. I have not messed with any of the bios or plug ins or whatever. Just SCPH1001.bin and d3dx9_16.dll. I'm currently running PSX 1.13 so when I start the emulator I get some kind of CMOS window. When I get to the problem area, it reads Read Without Drivers in a long succession.

Screen shots of what I'm getting.

Before the problem:

When I go up into the next screen:

Keep in mind when I'm here, I still hear the music.

And the CMOS type window thing:

Once I try to enter the next screen that is read on the above panel.

I'm running a fairly new-ish computer.
-------------------------------------------------
Windows XP
Nvidia 6200
AMD Athelon XP 2600+
with 512mb of RAM

I'm pretty sure that's sufficient enough to run the game pretty well.

As for my second query; I'd like to know if it's possible to switch the .psv files that PSX 1.13 saves for a save state into another ps1 emulator. (preferably ePSXe if that's possible)

If not, then that's cool, I'm really not THAT far into anyway.

Still, any suggestions on how to fix this is more then one hundred percent appreciated. Regardless of whether or not it works! XD

For the first part, check the disc whether it is having a scratch or not.

That, I'd suggest that you save it in memory card files instead of save state. (Other emulator doesn't support save state made by pSX)

could be a disk problem, try epsxe or psxeven, at montpics pointed out, save properly through the mapped memory card, and then use that memory card save with your emulator. :)
