in epsxe 1.6.0. whenever i try to run an iso a box pops up that says *cdrom not found and it closes the program

what do i do?

Try to mount the image with Daemon-Tools (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/) and use SaPu CD plugin (used in ePSXe) before you run the game.
