Playing a GBC ROM on VisualBoy Advance...??

I got Pokemon Gold ROM for the purpose of putting decent pokemon on there to use with Pokemon Stadium 2 for N64. But when I load the ROM in VBA the game plays really quickly, at double/triple the rate and I can't figure out how to slow it down, GBA ROMs play fine.

Can anyone help...??

I didn't used the VBA for a while but what can I say is: change the frame rate.

Go to:Options->Frame Skip and check Automatic

do you have sound on off? that often makes it go faster, if it is, switch it to on and mute, also, make sure you have it at skipping no frames and the throttle turned off

I have tried all of your suggestions, but the game still runs too fast... I got a gameboy emulator and the rom plays fine on that.... so it's definitely a setting in VBA somewhere.... :(
