Help on roms

Hi all,

I have a rom about 16megs, but do not know which type of rom it is for. Is there a way, or method I can use to find out its type and then play the rom? Its Gauntlet Legends rom, if that helps. Thanks!

You have to tell us something first.

1. Is it zipped?
2. Whay kind of a site was it that you downloaded it from? (don't mention the site).
3. If it is not zipped, then what is its extension? like... ***.rom, ***.bin etc
4. Anything else...

1. It's zipped, file name was Gauntlet Legends (U) [!].zip. Contains only one file.

2. It was downloaded using Limewire(ie p2p software).

3. Unzipped, its Gauntlet Legends (U) [!].rom. It's about 16megs in size.

4. mame doesn't seem to support it, perhaps the file is too big for a mame game? Tried ePSX, and didn't work. I'm guessing it is N64 game after going back into Limewire and checking the size which matches another file. I'll try that and reply back.

Yes it is a N64 game.

Go inside the ZIP file and verify its extension. If it's something like Z64, V64... It's a Nintendo 64 ROM. If it's SMC or FIG, its a SNES ROM.
