SSF Won't start up

I'm having a little problem with SSF alpha 009.
When I try to open the program, it gives me the "waiting" cursor, then it just stops. SSF doesn't open. I wait about 5 or 6 minutes then gives me the "SSF has encountered a problem" window and I close out of it.
Help would be greatly appreciated

Without those things... Your emulator won't start up.
