USB controllers in FreeDO

I got it working and put in one of my old 3DO games but the screen with the controller wont input anything from my USB controllers which work on all the other emulators, is there a trick? or another menu im missing?

While I'm not familiar with the emulator you are using, but maybe you can get around your problem with Xpadder (http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2007/05/xpadder-use-your-pc-gamepad-instead-of-keyboard.html)?
