Why can`t I ever play arcade games on my PC?

I put the emulater and the roms in the same folder and it will not detect them the rom names are the same and everything but it acts like its not there. I put the emulater and a rom tempest rev 1 and it searches and it doesn`t find anygames What should I do? Then it teels me unable to create direct 3D device no what

First, what emulator are you using? Like if it's mame32, the rom directory is set for the roms folder that would made in the same folder as the emulator. Also, I've found roms from certain places aren't functional.

I also encountered this problem once. I got Neogeo roms from a site that had fitted them to only work with Neorage, so it wouldn't work on any other emulator like Mame32 or Final Burn Alpha. I had to download the roms from the mame section of the site.

Anyways, bottom line, some roms don't have roms with integrity.

Also Tempest (rev1) is a clone rom (variant board set). You need the parent (Tempest Rev3) to be able to play it with mame.
