R4 or Kingston?

work on the DS? If so can I just stick the Kingston SD card into my computer then put games into it.

Or do I have to get the official R4 package with a MicroSD card to play it on the DS?

I think you need the R4 thing. I know nothing about Flash carts, but by just putting ROMs in a SD card won't work. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You will need a R4DS and a MicroSD card. I have them and it works great. They're cheap and just copying ROMs to your card works flawlessly.

Basically any MicroSD card works for the R4. I got the PQI 2gb card for $12 locally, and it works perfectly with no lag (though the largest rom I've tried running was 125mb), so don't just go for the namebrands.

There are many places to get the R4 online. Deal Extreme is the cheapest at ~$33, but they operate out of Hong Kong or China, so it takes about a month to get the goods. I've heard good things about Real Hot Stuff (sounds like a sex shop name, I know), but at the time I was ordering, they were out of stock of the R4, but they have tons of other flashcarts. I ordered mine off NXPGame, which is a new and small company, but they shipped the next day.

Well, that's $33 plus the cost of the microSD card, which is anywhere from $5-20 depending on capacity. Either way, it's barely more than the cost of one game. Just sell your game collection.
