Victoria, Logic3 should have installed as a HID, or at least prompted you for drivers. If in controller panle under game controllers its not listed then you have a driver problem. If its listed you have an emulator problem. First tell us that.
Driver problems are better solver else were. But most of the time just unplug it from one USB port and back in to another, then reinstall with the supplied driver disc.
Emulator problems may be plugin related try another plugin. What emu are you using, what plugin?

A plugin is typically a 3rd part software tool to add on to an existing package. So for PJ64 its the tool that drives your video or sound or joystick. This give the user the ability to use "another" plugin in case the first is giving you trouble. This sounds like what you need to do...
SO!!. to get there do this..
in Project 64 go to options -> setting then look at input plugin. You should see jabo's in there by default. I would suggest another of his (different version) or just try any other. You will notice each has its own way of setting up your joystick. Its posible Jabos is not working for you.
Another option for you is to see if you joystick has joy to key assignments. and if so just assign keys to you joystick buttons and use the basic keyboard input plugin.
