I'm having a problem when saving Golden Sun, It says "Unable to detect backup memory". I know you can just go to file then save as. But I want to save it regularly, so i can restart the emulator, so i can get a certain item in the game. So if you could help, that would be very helpful.

There are quite a few games that need tweaks to work with vba.
Try changing the save type (Options->Emulator->Save Type) or the save size (Options->Emulator->Save Type).
I find that the save type usually is either EEPROM or SRAM.

I had this problem with the GBA Emulator Trade Link.
You have to change the save type to Flash 64k, maybe it was in 128k just like mine
Emulator -> Save Type -> Flash 64k
