View Full Version : Pre-BIOS to Post-BIOS savestates?

I'm playing Pokemon FireRed and am a fair way into it, and I just acquired the BIOS so that I can use the in game save feature in lieu of the fact that without it, I won't be able to fight the Elite Four or Trade. Now that I have the BIOS, if I load it, I can't load my pre-BIOS savestates. Also, if I load my savestate and then load the BIOS, and then savestate, it doesn't work.
Is there anyway for me to be able to fix this?
My Emulator is VBALink and my BIOS is TS2.
Thanks!

*EDIT* nevermind after running some test of my own with two different versions of the game w/+w/o the bios, and running some Hex compares it doesn't look like I can do much with it. :( it changes almost the whole layout of the Hexidecimal. I've managed to Hex out some fds saves from original dumps and do some ps2 fixes w/o native support for certain features but for the time there isnt much that can be done using the Hex editor on the savestates between bios saves and non-bios saves.

Ahh, its alright. Thanks anyway, flamingo. I'll just hammer back through to where I was (with all the starter pokemon) :D

New problem, if anyone cares to help...
I have two copies of the emulator running, and they're running on two copies of the same BIOS...they have the same settings: 128K automatic IPS patching, use real time clock, etc.
Only one of them will save, the other still gives me the "Save error"
Thanks!
