I have an idea for an emulator i am am making and i was wondering the difference between emulating homebrew and a commercial game.

Edit: I think by editing the petitboot source code for the ps3 bootloader to make it work on a pc, i could run ps3 homebrew. The next step after that is running demos and then, commercial games. Are there any programmers here with ubuntu Linux who can help me?
