I am using Gens v2.14 and it plays the .smd files just fine. For some reason it won't play .sms files.

Are the .sms files even sega roms? Does anyone know how to get the .sms to work with Gens 2.14.

I guess I am also having issues with the .sg files???

Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Gens32 & Gens doesn't support SG-1000 or SMS roms, Gens Plus has support for the sms/gg.

*edit*

yes, the .sms extension is a sega rom extension, its a image file of a sega master system game. personally I would go with kega fusion its much more accurate then gens and also supports Genesis, Sega CD, 32x, _+ SMS/GG, SG-1000 & SC-3000 roms.

So kega fushion should play .sms files? Does kega fushion have netplay? I work at a call center and we all want to play 2p games over LAN.

yes, fusion (http://emulator-zone.com/doc.php/genesis/fusion.html) has netplay and it will recognize & run the .sms & .sg files.

edit: if you want to use filters, there are 20 of them and you can download them here (http://www.savefile.com/files/1200445). just place the .rar file in your fusion folder and use extract here w/winrar.

Filters? Sorry I am new to the Sega emulators and not sure what those are or why you would want them?

oh, most emulators have them, you know like hq2x,hq3x,2xscale...ect. used for graphic blending and image enhancement.
