Is Project64 v1.7 going to be the version that fixes all audio & video errors. Currently I switch between four different n64 emulators depending on which emulator plays the rom the best. I use the same audio, video, RSP and direct input plugins for each emulator, except for 1964 and Project64 1.5.

The emulators I currently use are 1964 0.99, Mupen64 0.5.1, Project64 1.5 and Project64 1.6.

For 1964, I use Jabo's direct3D8 video plugin, Azimer's HLE 0.56 WIP 2 Audio Plugin N'rage's Direct input plugin and No RSP plugin

For Mupen64, I use Jabo's direct3D8 video plugin, Azimer's HLE 0.56 WIP 2 Audio Plugin, N'rages direct input plugin and Jabo's RSP pplugin

For Project64 1.6, I use Jabo's direct3D8 video plugin, Azimer's HLE 0.56 WIP 2 Audio Plugin, N'rages Direct input plugin and Jabo's RSP plugin.

For Project64 1.5, I use Jabo's direct3D6 video plugin, Azimer's HLE 0.56 WIP 2 Audio plugin, N'rages Direct input plugin and Jabo's RSP plugin

Separating each of these emulators into their own directories and the roms that work best with them is currently the only solution to not having to switch plugins all of the time. It's way easier to switch between emulators because of the Rom Browser feature.

If Project64 1.7 can't make it easier than what I have done. Then I probably won't bother using 1.7. Besides I have over 226 compatible roms that play excellently with each of the emulators I currently use. I just wish I had the time to list which roms play best with each emulator.

1.7 have a lots of improvement over 1.6 version but that's all I can say because you will have to wait for it to be release in 2008 to avoid the overexciting and lots of questions and maybe unnecessary questions about it so it is better off left quietly until 2008 and I am not reveal much about it now. ;) You can even donate it for 20 dollars if you are not patient.

A lot of things will be improved and some games that are incompatible with version 1.6 will be playable in version 1.7, but we can't assure if all games will work at a desirable compatibility.

Yes, seems like they pretty much "almost" perfected v1.7 to play most games without graphic & sound errors. Remember though: emulation will never be perfect... Wrote a thing here: http://forums.emulator-zone.com/showthread.php?t=11197 If helps. ;)

EDIT: It's a beta right now (Seems their donation page is down at the monment), so slow on lower-end PCs (CPU) wise, but probably best to wait for the final version of v1.7 to get ya money's worth. ;)
