Question about older wii

I'm planning to buy a wii. I've found an unused old version that doesn't have dvd video playback capability with a very good price. I don't care about watching dvd films on wii but I'm wondering if the first wiis have problems or not.

Generally all versions of the Wii that have been released have had no technically problems (Nothing as severe as the xbox 360 :p).

There was an issue with a firmware update (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii#Technical_issues) on a small number of Wii's that rendered the machine useless. Make sure the machine you're thinking of buying isn't bricked/unusable.
