So, lets start off with the obvious fact... that I'm not really "in the know" when it comes to computer kinds of things. :o So, forgive me if I use the incorrect term or if everything you say to me goes over my head.

I've been playing games since NeoGeo ( I think... ) and the very first game I can recall playing was something called "Burger Time". Can't be sure, because I was a young kid at the time.

I hope to learn some things from you guys, so I'm going into lurking after this, unless I really have a question. The first game I'd like to have on my computer is an SNES Emulator and my own copy of EarthBound ( Mother 2 ).
Since I downloaded a few Emulators and the EB game a few times, I can't figure out how to open it ( Something about opening the application or something, since it needs it to play ) ? I warned you I wasn't very computer savvy.

:( Sorry, it's my first time hearing about Emulators and Roms. It kinda makes my head spin.

~ Anyway, I have an iMac OS X. It's about a month old and it replaced my ( always dying SOB ) PC. I've since then read that iMac's are not the preferred machine for gaming. I've downloaded a couple of emulators and a few copies of EB. The first copy just showed a black screen when opened.

I don't want to turn this into a help question... so I will post in the right section and hope not to get flamed for what sounds like a real n00b thing to ask.

Thank you.

Yeah, I got dazzled by the *shiny* and all the *whistles* when I bought the iMac. :o

I do own Quake4. The graphics are excellent compared to what I had on the older PC. I needed a comp that didn't have so many issues, but it could also have been that my PC was half as old as I am.
