Ok, so we have several options of Apocalypse to choose from; Nukes, the Sun, a comet, no resources left, inbreeding, etc, etc.
So what do you think our demise will be?
I would have to say that although the Nukes will explode sometime soon with all those terrorism shit, it won't totally destroy us, so I'd have to say the resources being used up will do it.

The dawn of the end has already begun.People will be wasting more and more time over internet forums ,a fact that will eventually be the death of their social life. With no social life they will start having psychological problems, leading to depression and pessimism. This pessimism will make them create threads in these hellish forums so as to discuss matters such as suicides, nuclear wars, the end of the world etc...The threads will soon be full of "joyfull" answers that will make people even more pessimistic until they start having suicidal thoughts. This will be the period that a mass wave of suicides will take place ,that will eventually make the human race become extinct...
Now if you excuse me ,I'll go find my pistol. This world suddenly seems too unbarable for me.....

Good job on pin pointing my life. I'm at the last step before the end... ;)
The end will obviously be brought about by humans themselves. We're too corrupt to deny it. Many people would slit a throat for a nickel. The same applies on a political level. Conspiracy, war, terrorism. It all has a part in laying the foundation for an apocalyptic ending to humankind's blatantly sad and morally declining story.
Personally if I could choose the way we go - I'd prefer aliens. Yep - a mass invasion by the Greys. That way there may be a chance for some highly advanced painless death to take the place of open wounds or some flesh eating disease... or I'd like to die because of old age. Either one would work.

Well the world will end no doubt about it but human life is very vigilent, we will press on or else it was a waste of time to have us created in the first place.
Or at least i hope this is the case.
And it seems that the world has started to flood with the global warming.
So it would seem that all our land masses will shortly dissapear.

When you dies this old man takes off your vr headset and wakes you up. You look around and there are a bunch of people lying in little white beds with their own headsets on sleeping and twitching to the game. He walks you outside by the pond to a little bench where he discusses your strategy in "life" and how bad you sucked at it. Then when you try to defend yourself He goes in and resets the whole system and everyone dies. That's how the world ends.
Either that or zombies.

I was waching "7 Days" last night and saw a new "End Of The World" scenario. The US army wanted to try a neutron pulse weapon that was supposed to "erase" every living creature on the battle field. The test went wrong and the pulse got multiplied(it's power) wiping out all life on earth and leaving only trees.
The bad news is that this would have been the end but Frank was conveniently located 600 feet under the earth on a isolated chamber reading some top secret stuff so he survived and went back in time to fix things as ususal.

Actually with new statistics
Supposedly we are using up more oil then we can produce so our oil prices are skyrocketing. This leads to a factor that we are looking for more oil feilds in which to meet the demand. So with the extra energies being poured into the picture we are producing more population because of the excess. This is leaving us with less and less oil in which to hunt for. And once all conseres are exhasperated then our population will plummit. In the last 100 years our worlds population went up in the billions. So with the excess energies gone our unprepared population will plummit again. We may still have the technologies but most will be useless. We will go back to a more controlable time and the world, even though now is almost destroyed will go back to it's beginings. Pollution will dramaticaly decrease, waste and disposal areas will have time to do their jobs, and the animal population will again flourish.
There will be no wrath of God, no Great Flood, No Volcanic pressure that can blow up the world.
There will only be these factors
Considerally we are like bacteria, When we Find a massive Energy flood we flourish. We use the energy until it is gone then we either decrease in numbers or search for a greater resource. And considering the fact we wont be able to jump from planet to planet until such a time in the far future we are doomed to decrease in numbers.
Now I would have much rather been in the old ages when the populous was more managable, and it seems were headed that way, so make sure your childrens children are prepared. Or your your ancestrial line will no longer exsist.
This is what I now think
any questions?

The oil resource is limited so we are bound to run out of it in the next couple of years. Though at the time being we arnt acctaully using too much to the point we cant reach demand. There is hundred of oil barrels stacked away by oil companies, its not that we are running out its just that a mass precentage of usable oil is being stored for stock market purposes.

Hmm I cannot agree. IMHO the universe is expanding (outwards) and will continue to expand untill the matter totally scatters across the infinity of the universe.
We will cease to exist because the sun will become a red giant who-knows-how-many-million years from now. It will swallow the earth in it's dying breath and unless we flee to another planet - we are doomed.

You start off talking about the expansion of the Universe. You give no logical reason why expansion means that there will never be a reverse of the Big Bang idea. You may as well have said that your favourite clowns are green clowns.
You then said something entirely unrelated about the sun going boom. Why? What evidence suggests this? How can you be sure nothing else will happen first?
These statements are no less logical than what you've said:
* The great Ducklesnot will inject poison into the Earth's core.
* In the year 2007, people with "outey" belly buttons will explode killing everything within a 50 mile radius.
* Mice: Friend or foe? Apocalypse at noon.
* Ekky Thump St. Bungalows McBees

Because I didn't explain the logical reasons doesn't mean there are no logical reasons.
First off it was prooven by blue shift / red shift spectrum analysis that galaxies are moving away from us and each other (that's some logical proof that the universe is expanding).
The sun's nuclear power is limited. When it runs out of hydrogen fuel it won't be able to hold it's outer layers and they will start to expand. It has been proven that stars with mass approximately the same as the sun become red giants in the end of their lifes as stars (after that they become white dwarfs).
I don't have the time to explain further and as ScotchGay said - my English is bad, so if I find some articles regarding the shit above, I'll post them here.
Jet Set Willy
December 8th, 2004, 08:24
I didn't say the concepts had no logic. I said you're applying no logic to the situation, and you're not. You've still not given a reason for this being the probable cause of the end of the world. Sure, it can happen, but it may not be the probable cause. You're all just saying things. It seems a bit pointless.

I say realistic things that may cause Earth's death. Humanity can be long gone before sun's death though but I'm an optimist (after the end of the cold war) and I think that we will survive somehow to the point when the sun will expand.
