problem with pokemon sapphire

im having a problem with my pokemon sapphire. when it starts i push enter untill it gets to the new game and options screen. i push enter and it doesn't work, can any1 help me?

Are you using the vba emulator?

Might be the rom your using in general that might be corrupt or damaged. Download a clean one.
