BSNES save question

I can't find out how to save my progess in games with this emulator, and everything I can find on it gives me the impression there's no Save State feature in it and that it is incredibly accurate to a physical SNES console, so does that mean that whenever I save in a game, it automatically saves into the Rom itself?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You understand correctly. If you want save state - go to ZSNES or SNES9X. Anytime you want to save in a game like a real console and it will do that. Unfortunately, there will be no save state at all for this emulator. :)
