Super Mario 3..help plz

hi im new to emulation...i have a hp dv6000t series laptop. I want to play mario 3 with the super nintendo and i want it to play on a controller that i just bought...from reading all i have to do is download the emulater and the rom files and im all set?

Not really. You need to configure video, sound and all other shit to fit your needs. Of course, you must find the ROM by yourself, because we won't support you in this matter.

ok i found what i need but i get....bad rom...checksum: failed...

Just letting you know that super mario 3 is for the NES not the SNES, so you will need a NES emulator, although Super Mario 3 was released on the SNES as a compilation with the first 3 Mario games.

Well its for the SNES though Mario All-Stars, but yeah, the stand alone game is NES only.
