Okay, number one I'll start off by telling everyone that I'm an extreme noob, so please bear with me. Today's literally my first day using emulators and ROMs, and I've been cramming as much info as possible into my brain all afternoon.

I've started using the Banjo-Kazooie ROM on Project64, and it's really cool so far. The intro loads up perfectly, the graphics are flawless, the sound is clear. Only there's one little problem: I have no clue how to actually play the game! At first, when it got to the title screen, I tried pressing ENTER. This worked, and it opened to the screen with all the files to choose from. I realized that moving the arrow keys would move the cursor to each file, but that was as far as I got. I tried all the buttons I could, but none of them would open the file I was on. I decided to go to Settings, and I attempted to change the configuration settings, then pressed OK and tried using those controls, but they still wouldn't work. Then I remembered I'd read something about choosing a different input plugin (N-Rage). I chose that and again changed the control settings, but it still didn't help. Worse, now when I try to simply load up the emulator, the intro has the words "NO CONTROLLER" on the bottom of the screen.

Can someone please explain what I did wrong or what I should have done? I'm trying to figure this out, but like I said, I'm completely new at this. I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me a little tutorial or something (without using too many uber-advanced terms or info). Please?

(By the way: I don't have any controllers or anything...I'm just trying to configure my keyboard to work with the game.)
