Well, that is what you get when you download games, you probably got the ones with ripped music in order to reduce filesize.
If you want quality i suggest that you use original PSX games.
Many PS1 fighting games I download and burn won't play music when I test then on my PS2. Both the menus and during the fight itself the game is mute aside from the sound effects. The problem occured with games such as Tekken 1, Darkstalkers, Real Bout: Fatal Fury, Dead or Alive and The King of Fighters 96 and 97. Others like Tekken 2 played normally. I tried changind burning programs and the CDs I used, but it didn't work. What could be the reason?
I test the games with ePSXe before burning, and even then the music won't play. Could it be the files themselves are corrupted so I have no choice but to look for another source?
Thanks.

I'd love to if I could. But there are many games that just can't be found anymore.
