i've had no problems with project64. The copyright notice is pretty much the same as any other software that's closed source.
I downloaded Project64 and when it is about to install, it says that this is protected by copyright laws and international treaties. Is this anything to worry about? Also, Project64 is good a god N64 emulator right?

What are you talking about? Dont pay attention to the copyrights, how could you find those scary? Go to start, all programs, and look for project 64, it should be yellow, and you can drag it to your desktop.
The copyrights are for the protection of the emulator authors. This has nothing to do with the ROM side of emulation, it's just telling you that the emulator is copyrighted software. Ignoring copyrights is also stupid and will land you in court on the off chance someone get's pissed at you
