VBA Pokemon FireRed Save Problem

Hi All,

I had this problem, when i tried to save the game using the save option from inside the game i got the "please exchange the backup memory" message.
after searching the web for hours i found a way to fix it and now i can save.
but, the price is starting the game all over again.. which is a high price to pay for me

i tried messing with other programs and with the import and export options and i found out that the problem is that the sgm save file is storing the save options and thats why even though i change the options and fix everything in the software.. it will still wont allow me to save the game properly .
so im asking u, is there a way to fix the sgm file.. or some way to convert it into a good *.sav file.. please help me find the solution

no one knows if there's a possibility to edit the *.sgm file ? plz ppl it will help me alot

yes change the name of the sgm file

change the name of the sgm file same name as you rom but .sgm

what is that got to do with it... i think u missunderstood me.
my problem is when i load the sgm file i cant use the in game save option but when i start a new game i can use it..

now anyone has a clue on what to do in order to fix it?

aha the save type instead of eeprom put another like automatic it's in options and you choose the save type

i already did it.. the save type is automatic and the flash is 128k.. i told u i solved the save problem but the older save is still not allowing me to in-game save (battery save)
