I get the same problem too.
OK, so i just got into n64 emulation and started playing the zelda ocarina game. the intro is kinda long and boring but i got a few hours into the game and was saving along the waY (saving in the game, NOT state saves). I tested the save funciton when i was playing and it worked fine. however, when i went to play today I found out that all of the data had been lost.... DAMN.
So, i have a couple of questions.
1) I see there are complete save files on the net.. will such files allow me to get to the point I was at? I don't want them if they will give me stuff i didn't get (no fun to cheat).
2) does anyone know why the game save funcotin gets erased?
thakns!

It doesn't happened to me at all. Been used it for few years and do not have a problem. What emulator and plugin do you used ?
I use project 64 1.6 and my plugin is Rice daedalus
I use project 64 1.6 and 1.7 (beta).
Oh, I do not use daedalus.
what plugin do you use
Well..let's see...hold on.
edit:
http://www.ngemu.com/n64/plugins.php...win32&type=gpu
try them out and you will see. Mine is glN64 0.4.1 and Rice Video plugin 6.1.1beta10 depending on the games.
