hey,
I am running super mario world in zsnes. i'm runing it on my tv, which is connected to my laptop (pentium 4, 1.something ghz) through the s-video outpui.
The game runs fine when i run it on the laptop, but when i put it on the tv it has *very slight* jerks/stops. I don't have any other programs running in the background except for utorrent.
can anyone offer suggestions for how to get rid of the jerks/slowness? It's not a big deal, but i'd rather not have it happen.
thanks![]()
cool man, thanks! that totally fixed it! I didn't realize that utorrent used so much resources.

Actually, it's not a matter of how much resources it uses. ZSNES is very susceptible when there's some writing/reading activity on your hard disk, specially if you're downloading things that are composed of pieces such as torrents. Utorrent only takes about 4 MB of RAM, so that proves my point.
Also, when your antivirus is running a scan schedule, these things happen.
Sometimes it's better to enable vsync since triple buffering delays the controller response a bit. Make sure to enable vsync on resolutions higher than 640x480, because it screws the aspect ratio of your game. Probably some graphic bug.Originally Posted by Zach

Vsync don't work on TV's last I checked (and I always force vsync), at least not any TV I've ever hooked my PC up to. I can't really say I've seen any delayed response from tripple buffering either, all it does is buffer the picture into more frames to smooth it out. Not sure how that would effect the controller...
And since most TV's default to 640x480 no matter what resolution you've selected, it's not going to matter much. The aspect ratio always comes out proper when I play.
That's because most standard 4:3 TVs refresh rate is set at 60 Hz. Try it and see what you get. I've enabled vsync and it works on TV too.
