VisualBoyAdvance stopped opening .sgm files (or loading saved files at all)

Hi,

I downloaded VBA last night and everything was working fine. I opened my saved files this morning, and they worked, and then out of nowhere, I couldn't load my saved files. I went into the folder and double-clicked on the files, and it opened VBA and said "Unsupported file type: blahblahblah.sgm." So basically I can keep playing all I want, but unless I keep VBA running at all times, I can't save the game and play later on.

Help?
