Thread: Using a game pad for NES games

Default Using a game pad for NES games

I installed Nestopia on my computer this morning and proceeded to upload and play baseball stars 2. I was able to make it to the main screen of the game, but quickly learned I could only control the onscreen arrow with the keyboard and not my 8-button controller. Is there a setting in the emulator I need to change in order to use the controller instead of the keyboard, or I do I not have that option with this emulator?
Is there an emulator that will allow me to use a controller?

Note: I also tried Nesticle, since I had previously used that emulator in the past, but when I tried to open up a game, baseball stars was not listed and I wasn't able to find it in the folder I had put it in through the Nesticle menu screen. Any thoughts?

I am currently running Windows XP.

    Thanks in advance.

There should be an option in the controller config options somewhere. That's where it is located in most emulators.

    Try reading the readme

I checked last night and did not see any options for game controllers. The readme text was also not helpful at all. Any other thoughts?
