Usb Game Pad

Hi,

I am really new to this so please bear with me. I have recently downloaded a few game to play on my windows xp. The games work fine via keyboard. But i purchased a new usb game pad. but cannot get it to work with the games. Any Ideas.

• Install the drivers or make sure Windows recognized it.
• Select the gamepad from a drop down list before assigning keys (needed in some emulators).
