Newbie questions about Silent Hill/emulators

Hello.
I´m kinda new with the whole emulator-stuff.
Now, i have only one simple question: I´m planing to purchase the PS 1 game "Silent Hill 1" on ebay. I do not have any of the consoles, so i thought about using a PS 1 emulator on my PC at home. Would that work? What do i have to do and use? TIA!

As long as your PC isn't too old you should be able to run Silent Hill nicely with ePSXe.
Apart from the emulator and game you'll also need a BIOS and some plugins. You can't
ask for a BIOS here as they are copyrighted, but you should be able to find one easily
enough by searching for "scph1000" with a file sharing program.
