Problem with- er, graphics I guess?

Sorry my first time on this forum is asking a weird question, but I'm trying to run Tsubasa Chronicle vol.2 in Desmumev0.3.3 and it's having issues in a big way. The backgrounds and scenery all show up, but I can't see any of the pictures in the foreground. I know the problem's not the rom because my friend got it from the same site and is using the same emulator too, and his show up (but the color's off).
So if it's not the rom or the emulator, got ANY ideas what's wrong? Everything else runs fine, I just can't see the important stuff.

Is that a DS emulator? If so, don't bother with it.

DS emulators are on their early stages of developmens so you won't run any commercial game yet.

Ah! Yeah, sorry, forgot to mention that. It IS a DS emulator, but my friend is running the same rom without problems (except for weird color) so I know it can work. Desmume can do some commercial games.
