GBE cheats

i have it on a imac and the cheats seem to not work, i know that the cheats are correct because they work on my brothers windows computer. but he wont let me use it so i have to use a imac. so when i go to plug in the cheats it says that cheats must be in XXXXXXXYYYYYYY for mormat or something like that.
so how do i enter in cheats corectly.(these are gamesharkcheats)

ive tried every thing and every time i get this note that says
INVALAID GSA CIDE. FORMAT IS XXXXXXXXYYYYYYYY

and i have no idea what to do!! ive tried 1 row for each slot ive tried every row in 1 slot and nothing seems to work!
