Retrousb is a good pageAs far as an adapter that's a no since there are no nes extension cables available. I made an adapter my self by hacking apart my old nes system and using the female connector. I had to use the same circuit board design as the snes adapter. and had to add a resistor to get it to work. If you have the skills I show you how.
