    Default Saving pokemon fire red on gba

    i have VBA link and i play through the game fine using save states. but now i have gotten to the pokemon league, and when i beat them, the game goes through the credits, says "the end", it starts up, has press start, but when i do it comes up with 1m sub-circuit board not installed. so i guess this means there is no save file to load or something. can someone please tell me how to make it work? how to patch it? or what settings to change?

    You have a copule of options:

    1) Some ROMs have been patched to make saves work, but mostly you only need to proper configure the save type:

    Options -> Emulators -> Save Type -> Automatic
    Options -> Emulators -> Save Type -> Flash 64K

    Then try to use the vba-over.ini file is very helpful. Unzip and place it on the VBA folder. Get it here:

    2) There's other way, suggested by TchuBacha
