I've got absolutely no idea what the hell I am doing. I'll begin with where I am now. I've downloaded an FFVIII torrent (Took about 3 days!), and now I'm lost.
I have the PSX emulator installed with the proper plugins (I think. I'm using the P.E.O.s.P ones), and BIOS (SCPH1001). I have Daemon-Tools as well. Now, when I mount files on it (I haven't a clue which ones I should be mounting, I only know what disc they belong to, or if I should be mounting them all simultaneously.) Anyways, if I mount when, and run the Emulator, it just gives me a black screen.
Now, I'm trying to run the install CD, to no avail. No matter what I do, I just get a black screen. And for some reason now, the computer crashes when I mount the .sub file. Same for trying to run Disc One.
So if there is anybody out there that can help out a super n00b, please lend me a helping hand. I need a step by step tutorial. Thanks in advance! Much Appreciated. If you want to email me, you can get me at halo55555@hotmail.com

Which files have you downloaded? Never mount the .sub, use the CCD, CUE, etc if present. You don't need to install any disc, just mount or load on ePSXe the disc 1.

Still not working. Do I need to convert the .img files to ISO in order for it to play? Cause I'm always getting a black screen, nothing else. Also, how can you tell if the file you want to play is NTSC, or PAL?
No, if you have a .ccd use this with Daemon Tools, but if isn't the case either mount (DT) or directly load the .img file with ePSXe. This should work anyway. Did you correctly set the CDr plugin to use the DT drive? You can use Sapu or Xeven too.
Perhaps you've a problem with IOCTL or the ASPI layer isn't installed. WIth peops CDr, if the IOCTL (SPTI) mode doesn't work , you can enable it: "Devices - restrict CD-ROM acces to current user" on "Control Panel" -> "Administration Tools" -> "Local security policies" -> "Local policies". Otherwise, install the ASPI layer with the ForceASPI script, or with the Ahead's implementation.
To know if a game it's NTSC-U (USA, Canada), NTSC-J (Japan) or PAL (Europe) version, first mount the image. On the root folder from the DT virtual drive you should find a file named like this:
SCES_#.### or SLES_#.### (replace each # for the corresponding number) : Your game it's PAL
SCUS_#.### or SLUS_#.### : NTSC-U
SLPS_#.### , SLPM_#.### anything else : NTSC-J
